Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts Choice Awards 2022

Das diesjährige Voting des Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts' Choice Awards (TERPECA) ist abgeschlossen und das Ranking dazu wurde bekannt gegeben! Bei der fünften Ausgabe dieses Votings haben weltweit 955 Enthusiasten aus 28 Ländern dazu beigetragen 336 Finalisten ins Rennen zu schicken!

Dieses Jahr wurde ausschliesslich die Top Escape Rooms gewählt. Die Online Escape Rooms wurden dieses Jahr nicht nominiert, da diese anscheinend aufgrund der gelockerten COVID-Situation in diesem Jahr deutlich an Relevanz verloren haben und auch auf die Kürung der Top Companies wurde aus verschiedenen Gründen verzichtet.

Am 17. Dezember war die Award-show welche folgende Räume als die Top 10 verkündete:

2. Mollys Game - Down the hatch (Voorburg, Netherlands) (Vojahr Platz 3)
3. The Dome - Mama Bazooka (Bunschoten, Netherlands) (Vojahr Platz 2) zum Bericht
4. Birth Machine - Mad Machines (Milano, Italy) (Neu)
5. The Saint - Shock Creations (Madrid, Spain) (Vojahr Platz 4)
6. Cybercity 2049 - Escape Barcelona (Santa Coloma de Garamenet, Spain) (Vojahr Platz 5)
7. Abandoned Hotel - Exit19.PL (Wroclaw, Poland) (Vojahr Platz 9)
8. Don't take a Breath - Verone (Acharnes, Greece) (Vojahr Platz 16)
9. Stay in the Dark - Darkpark (Vlaardingen, Netherlands) (Vojahr Platz 15)
10. El Exorcista - No Exit (Athens, Greece) (Vojahr Platz 14)

Dieses Jahr hat sich die Top Ten noch einmal ziemlich neu durchgemischt. Wobei der letztjährige erste Platz gar nicht in das Voting aufgenommen wurde, da dieser entschieden hat sein Spiel vorerst nicht mehr in Englisch anzubieten.

In der Vorrunde konnten, Escape Games für das Voting nominiert werden, die es laut den Nominatoren verdient haben in das Ranking aufgenommen zu werden. Hast du über 100 Escape Rooms gespielt? dann kannst du dich für das Voting von nächstem Jahr anmelden - wenn du über 200 Räume auf dem Buckel, hast sogar als Nominator!

Folgende Escape Rooms aus der Schweiz haben 5 oder mehr Nominationen erhalten und sind somit in die Vorrunde aufgenommen worden:

Im Gesamten hat sich das Schweizer Feld etwas nach hinten geschoben. Dies ist sicherlich etwas der steigenden Bekanntheit dieser Awards zu schulden. Mehr Enthusiasten entdecken mehr gute Räume die nominiert werden und somit besteht auch mehr Konkurrenz die es zu übertrumpfen gilt. Nichtsdestotrotz denke ich, das 10 Escape Rooms in den Top 300 der Welt sicherlich kein schlechtes Fazit ist. Mitspielen in der obersten Liga tun wir in den meisten Fällen leider trotzdem nicht...

This year's Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts' Choice Awards (TERPECA) voting is over and the rankings have been announced! For the fifth edition of this voting, 950 enthusiasts from 28 countries worldwide contributed to 336 finalists!

This year, only the Top Escape Rooms were chosen. The Online Escape Rooms were not nominated this year, as they seem to have lost a lot of relevance due to the relaxed COVID situation, and the Top Companies were also not nominated for various reasons.

On 17 December was the award show which announced the following rooms as the top 10:

This year, the top ten has been shuffled around quite a bit. Last year's first place was not included in the voting at all, as it decided not to offer its game in English for the time being.

In the preliminary round, Escape Games could be nominated for the voting which, according to the nominators, deserve to be included in the ranking. If you have played more than 100 Escape Rooms, you can register for next year's voting - if you have more than 200 rooms under your belt, you can even register as a nominator!

Overall, the Swiss field has moved back a little. This is certainly due to the increasing popularity of these awards. More enthusiasts are discovering more good rooms that are nominated and thus there is more competition to outdo. Nevertheless, I think that 10 Escape Rooms in the world's top 300 is certainly not a bad conclusion. Unfortunately, we still don't play in the top league in most cases...
